SUMMARY MINUTES of Sabin Community Association Board Meeting, Monday 8 November 2010, 7 pm. at Whole Foods, Austin Peterson, presiding.


INTRODUCTIONS, WELCOME TO GUESTS.

Officer Camin brought a report of Sabin crimes for the month--fairly low, he says--and described apprehension of a car prowler. Officer Camin was informed of the burned out house at 3954 NE 18th Avenue. The Dangerous Buildings Program will board it up and the officer will keep an eye on it.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF OCTOBER MEETINGS.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Austin spoke of creating a standardized agenda for general meetings. It will be incorporated into a larger Hit by a Bus file outlining best procedures for what we do: general meetings, Cleanup, etc.

Sabin Identity/Marketing Committee continues work on the logo. Suzanne Clark will help with website development, with a phase one contact account, e-newsletter, with the new logo. Phase two will look at ways to update the paper newsletter, and phase three, much farther down the road, will create a website.

SCSC reported that renegotiating GNA’s with all the Sabin businesses should be the next step for it.

There was inconclusive discussion of the Sabin School Auction and possible sponsorship.

PRESENTATIONS.
Aaron Ladd informed the Board of a proposed Rose City Memorial Marathon, or Spring Marathon, starting April 2012, the route of which would be NE 17th to Failing to 19th to NE Alameda, starting and ending in the Rose Quarter and cycling back there twice, with a cut-off time of five and a half hours.

Local Leaders training 13-14 November was announced along with the news that Katy Asher is the new Neighborhoods Coordinator at NECN.

There was discussion of welcome baskets full of Sabin news and coupons to be given to new residents in the neighborhood.

Helen Sherman spoke of her recent experience of feeling threatened by various happenings in the vicinity of her home.
